I didn’t get home until 4:30ish this morning. It sucks having new people who have no idea wtf they are doing close. First of all this older lady, Jeni, is totally nice. Like old lady, grandma kind of nice, so it makes it a little hard to be mad at her. Only a little. Last night was the first time I worked with her for more than 30 minutes, but she has been closing with Timmy, so I figured it might be a little better than it turned out to be. Not only is Jeni slow on the line wrapping food, but I had to tell her the same thing like 10 times and she still didn’t understand. When it was almost three o’clock she started checking the time, and this conversation went on..

Jen: “is it three yet?”

Me:”we’re not even close to being done yet, so don’t bother checking the time”

Jeni: “well she (Sandra) told me eight hour shifts”

Me: “yeah but nobody is allowed to leave until we finish. isn’t that what you’ve been doing? finish and then leave, like everyone else?”

Jeni: “no”

Of course I know she’s lying, Timmy would have told me about that by now. I decided to check her time card for the last week anyway. Surprise! I was right. That was the most upsetting thing of the night was that conversation I had with her.

I’m going to wrap this up since nobody wants to hear about the Taco Bell drama I have to deal with lol.

Shake shake shake…shake your booty

Apparently there were a couple earthquakes last night. Really? I didn’t feel either one at work. The first happened when I was at work for likemaybe 30 minute, Jillian comes up and asks me if I felt that. I was like no? She said there was an earthquake, she felt it and so did the customers at the drive thru window. The second one was maybe an hour or so later. I got a call from Alvin, a text from Javy and a call from Sandra, all asking if we felt the earthquake and if we were okay. Oh and Laura’s mom called the store to talk to her to see if she was okay, too.

The last earthuake I felt was a couple months ago, I want to say it was on Easter, but I’m not 100% sure on that. I was at work, near the fryer of all places, talking to Timmy and Jason when everything just started swaying. Nothing happened here or at work, thank goodness. But that was the earthquake that messed up downtown Calexico.

Maybe the “big one” is coming? I’ve been hearing about it since middle school. Supposedly Cali is due for a huge earthquake on the San Andreas fault. Fun huh? Cali is so going to break off and just go floating off into the Pacific haha. But seriously though, I’m terrified of the “big one” happening, I really hope it holds off until everyone I know and I die lol.

Not too much else exciteg going on around here. Today is my payday and Javy said he wants to see if we can find a decent treadmill for a couple hundred dollars. I also want to go to the San Diego fair this year, we’ll see how that goes. Well I better finish cleaning the house before it’s time to pick up Serena and Adrian.

Most random post ever

I’ve totally been meaning to blog, especially since there’s been quite a few different things I wanted to post about. I can’t even remember everything. That sucks, but oh well I just go with what I remember.

Is it bad that Javy and I both want new phones and we’ve only had ours for a little over a month? He actually has a real excuse though: the rumor2 sucks. He can’t do all the awesome things I can do on my phone. Facebook app, myspace app, twitter app, youtube app etc. I just want a new phone because I changed my mind about the whole touchscreen thing. I was totally against it, wtf do I need touchscreen for? So it can mess up and I’m screwed? (Remember I have a 2 year old who loves to play with phones.) But then I saw the samsung seek on sprint’s website. That phone looks awesome and I want it.

Have you ever bought something and it was defective? How about food? Ever bought some kind of food and it’s defective? Well we went to the grocery store the other day and Javy bought a hungryman tv dinner with the boneless chicken. When we got home and I was getting ready for work he decided to make that for his dinner. He opened it and…there was no chicken! We were like wtf? How do you do that?

Last night at work Laura said she was feeling sick because she had food poisoning. So I asked her why she didn’t call out so we could have found a replacement. She said she doesn’t have insurance so she wouldn’t be able to get a doctor’s note. All this in my opinion was complete bullshit, but I didn’t want to have someone there that didn’t want to be there because then she would have dragged her ass and we would have gotten out late. Three o’clock in the morning is late enough as it is thank you. Anyways I sent her home after I got my important breaks out of the way. Amazingly enough we still got out at 3, thanks to Steven who stayed til almost 3 instead of 1. Maybe I’m wrong about that guy.

Time to go get Serena…

JJ’s sick, my poor baby boy. He caught it from Serena, who had caught it from Robert. Nice. Unfortunately, JJ got the fever that Robert had had and Serena avoided. But his fever has gone down in the last hour or so, hopefully it stays that way so I don’t have to take him kicking and screaming to the clinic. I also wouldn’t have to worry about who’s picking up Serena if I don’t take him to the clinic.

Work has been terrible at times lately. People have been coming and going so much it’s ridiculous. On top of that not too many people will close or work late night. That part really leaves me screwed since I’m pretty much the closing manager. So I get stuck with new people or this one slow guy. I have ONE good closer right now, and that really needs to change.

My brother bought Band Hero for his PS3 on Friday, and let me tell you how awesome it is! I love it. I play the drums in our “band”. I’m getting better each time I play (which isn’t very often). The only problem is we need a band name, right now we’re porcelain chicken, which is the name it gave us lol.

Not too much else going on, write soon…I hope.

I have to leave for worh in an hour. Since Javy took JJ up to his grandma’s house I figured I would post something.

I got a new cell phone, finally! I’m still super excited about it even though I’ve already had it for like 2 weeks lol. We switched to Sprint and got some awesome deals on our phones since we ordered online. I got the samsung exclaim and Javy got the rumor 2. Personally I think my phone is better, but it could be because it’s mine heh.

Serena is almost done with kindergarten. Can you believe that? KINDERGARTEN! I can’t believe it. In a few short months she will be starting first grade and turning 6. As I type this she is reading, seriously reading, a couple books she got from school. It is insane how fast they grow up. She plays on the computer (nickjr.com) and plays the wii all by herself. She can pick out her own clothes and do her own hair when she feels like it. Like I said it’s insane.

Poor JJ had his teeth fixed finally last week. The lil guy had to get 4 caps, 5 fillings and a tooth pulled. They had to put him to sleep to get it all done, but everything went well. He’s still putting up a fight when we brush his teeth, but other than that he’s good now. No more crying and pointing at his mouth saying “urt”.

Being a shift lead at work is stressful, but for the most part it’s okay. There have been a couple days when I snapped. One of those days I cried and the other day I yelled at someone. Both days were VERY busy and people were complaining about stuff that I had no control over, so I snapped. But after having a day off after each of those, I was fine. Speaking of work, I better go get ready and do dishes before I leave.

Wednesday is the big day. I will officially be a shift lead at work. It’s a little bit of a raise to start, 75 cents, but it’s something. After 6 months I will get a review and then we’ll see if I get another raise. I’m excited and nervous all at once. There are a couple people at work that I just cannot get along with and it’s going to be hard getting them to do what I need them to do. We’ll see how it goes.

Right now I’m playing WoW and watching Julie & Julia, I’ve bee wanting to watch this for a while. This movie made me want to blog and it also makes me want to buy Julia Child’s book and try out her recipes. I love cooking, Rachael Ray is my Favorite cook by the way. I love trying new things all the time, I just never get to cook that much, which sucks. But if anyone has any suggestions on something I should make I’m always up for new recipes

Javy is playing some PS3 with Carlos and Carlos’ brother, Tito. They haven’t been by on a while. Carlos and Javy were best friends, until Carlos’ wife, Elsa, came into the picture. After she came into our lives, Carlos isn’t allowed to see Javy. For some reason God knows why, she hates Javy. But that’s a whole other story. The guys came by to watch the UFC fight and apparently to play some video games. So I’m in the room with the kids, watching a movie, and on the laptop.

Off to finish playing some WoW before bed, I have work in the morning, bleah.

Sandra did work with me on my hours, so I am still an employee of Taco Bell. But my new hours don’t start for like another week because she asked me to do 2 more weeks of my current shift while she gets some new guys ready to take my old hours. I kind of hate giving up my hours, but I just can’t do it anymore. It would be a lot easier if I could just work days, then I could have my full time hours without being burnt out or missing time with my family. Also I’m not going to be shift lead anymore since I don’t want to work a lot of hours anymore, but she did tell me whenever I’m ready for that just let her know and we’ll get it done.

I’m sick and it sucks. It started with Serena, passed on to JJ and then to me. I called out Wednesday and Thursday because I just felt like total crap. Plus when you work in the food industry, going to work sick is not a very good idea ya know? Luckily I have tonight and tomorrow off, but Javy is going to Vegas. Do you know how nervous I am about him going to Vegas with his boss all weekend? Seriously, my stomach is in knots, it’s horrible. But I don’t want to be one of those wives that always says no, you can’t go. He knows what I expect anyway, so it should be fine right?

Last Tuesday I put in my 2 weeks at Taco Bell. Unfortunately my RGM was on a one week vacation, and I didn’t know. Today is the day she comes back. I’m nervous to go back to work tonight. I don’t know how she is going to react. The managers that do know about it think that she will work with me on my hours, which is the main reason for my leaving. I never get any time with my family, mostly Javy. He comes in the door and then I’m out the door almost right away and it sucks. We’ll see what happens when I get to work tonight what happens. If she doesn’t work with me then Tuesday will be my last day.

Normally I don’t get the chance to make dinner for Javy and the kids, which I’ve felt horrible about. But yesterday and today I’ve been able to make dinner, or at least start it. Last night was a yummy pasta I got from Rachael Ray’s Big Orange Book. Tonight is going to be green enchiladas. I’m boiling the chicken as we speak, er I mean type? Whatever. I’m also making some uber delicious brownies that I made for Taco Bell’s “Christmas party” last month. They’re called knock you naked brownies. I’m ALL over the mother n wife thing right now lol.

Other than that not too much going on lately, except planning JJ’s birthday party. His 2nd birthday is on the 15th and his party is on the 20th. I made the invitations over the weekend, I just need to get the right paper, print them out and hopefully get them sent/handed out this weekend. The party theme is Yo Gabba Gabba, but nobody we know knows what the hell it is lol. Even the ones with kids JJ’s age! Well they’re going to find out soon. JJ LOVES that show. It’s a unique theme and nobody else we know is going to do it, so I’m happy with it.

Gotta go check the chicken and finish off the brownies

New Year, New Post

I’m a little shocked that my site is still up. Thank you Randi for not deleting it, even though my posts are so random and far apart.

So here it is, a new year, 2010, can you believe it? I can’t. Last year went by so fast, it’s unbelievable. I guess when everyday is pretty much the same thing, days can run together causing them to go by really fast. Where do I start on what’s been going on?

I guess I’ll start wirh work. I’m still not a shift leader yet, but they keep telling me yes I will be promoted. Talk about lagging it! I’ve been waiting for this for about 6 or 7 months, I’ve been working there 8 months. Other than that, not too much else to say there. We’ve had so many new workers come and go, we’re taking bets on how long each new person will last lol. Not really, but we should.

Christmas was good, the kids got some good stuff. Serena was disapointed because she didn’t get any toys from Javy’s side of the family, but she got some cute clothes. Santa brought her some toys, so she was happy with that. I worked both Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, but luckily we closed early both days and I got home with plenty of time on both days.

You know what sucks? I started this post a couple days ago, knowing exactly what I wanted to talk about and now I’m drawing a big fat blank. I know I do want to say that I’m hoping I can post even more now. I know I say that a lot, but now we have a laptop so it’s easier for me to be on the computer. For some reason JJ doesn’t bug as much as when I’m on the desktop. Whatever works right?

Well since I have no idea what I intended this entry to be about, I’ll end it here.

Tonight is te CER inspection at work. We better pass after I stayed until freakin 2:30 this morning, instead of 1, cleaning. I freakin scrubbed the trashcan holder things and the floor and ugh it sucked. But this check should be pretty decent because of that and I worked Saturday when I was supposed to be off.

I have Halloween off, which is great so I can go trick or treating with Javy and the kids. I wish we had the extra money to get costumes for Javy and me so we could go to the party we were invited to. Oh well. I’m just glad I’m not working that night because Taco Bell is giving away a fee blackjack taco to every customer from 6pm to midnight. So stop at your local Taco Bell and try one =)
